SUMMARY

The closely related fields of wearable and soft robotics exist at the intersection of biology and machines. Intelligent robotic systems and robotically-enhanced soldiers will enable the U.S. Military to project force and capability further, faster, and with more precision. However, there is an emerging unmet need for flexible and hybrid electronic (FHE) materials and manufacturing approaches to uniquely enable these systems to endure and adapt in extreme and rapidly evolving mission environments at the human-machine interface. The material and manufacturing technologies that will enable the next offset strategy in human-machine teaming for the U.S. Military also stand to have broad commercial appeal and represent a large potential emerging market where the U.S. would like to strategically place its domestic industry as a global leader.

Join this workshop is to identify critical gaps in FHE materials and manufacturing science as strategic investment areas that enable enhanced capabilities in wearable and soft robotics while accelerating the growth of the domestic industry.

NETWORKING & TOUR

There will also be a no-host networking event and free tour of the Nanomanufacturing Center, Printed Electronics Research Collaborative (PERC) in the Saab Emerging Technologies Innovation Center (ETIC) building, and the NERVE (New England Robotics Validation and Experimentation) Center immediately proceeding.
