Hiring Our Heroes: Employer Panel on Advanced Manufacturing
On August 16th, NextFlex had the honor of co-hosted an Employer Panel on Advanced Manufacturing with Hiring Our Heroes. Hiring Our Heroes is a national non-profit focused on facilitating the employment of military-connected talent. The event began with NextFlex’s Deputy Director of Workforce Development, Courtney Power, sharing a presentation on emerging technology, innovative thinking, the defense industrial base, and careers in advanced manufacturing. As an Air Force veteran and military spouse, Courtney was able to share her own experience in transitioning to work in advanced manufacturing with the military-connected audience in attendance.
Next, representatives from NextFlex member companies Boeing, Brewer Science, GE Research, and TTM Technologies participated on the employer panel to share their expertise and knowledge. The military-connected audience in attendance was able to gain insight into roles in advanced manufacturing, pick up resume creation and interview best practices, and learn tips to manage the hiring process. In addition to reaching those in attendance, the presentation and panel was recorded and will be kept as a digital resource on the Hiring Our Heroes website. This is part of NextFlex’s continued efforts to engage military-connected talent with opportunities in the defense industrial base and broader advanced manufacturing sector.
