At NextFlex, we have an open, transparent, and highly collaborative approach to developing solutions that will yield enduring value for the Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE) industry. To that end, we seek to work with the best and brightest to solve the greatest technical challenges facing the industry today, and to help develop the NextFlex Technology Hub to become the valuable member resource we envision it to be. To accelerate the ramp-up of FHE design, prototype, and pilot manufacturing, and to speed technology transfer, NextFlex is soliciting proposals from members to temporarily assign technical experts to work in the Technology Hub. The temporary assignee will have the opportunity to participate in ongoing NextFlex projects, as well as to propose additional projects that support the NextFlex mission of advancing FHE manufacturing maturity.

NextFlex Event Manager

Position Summary

The NextFlex Event Manager is a successful and enthusiastic meeting planner who produces on-site and external events from conception through to completion. Responsibilities include providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that meet quality expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Event planning, design and production, effectively managing all project delivery elements within time limits and to quality standards. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with outside vendors. Organize facilities and manage all event details such as decor, catering, speaker management, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, and registration.
  • Manage volunteer organizing groups to develop program content in coordination with technical staff leader.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety obligations, and that internal security and business processes are followed.
  • Provide feedback and periodic reports to internal stakeholders. Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities.
  • Effectively communicate with external stakeholders to ensure participant satisfaction. Tactfully deal with diverse people, situations, and ideas.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities while maintaining strong focus on execution and results yet be adaptable to changing conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision; ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Ensure relevant content is presented, organization branding is maintained, and pre- and post-event communication strategies are deployed.
  • Contribute to event marketing support including promotional materials, including web updates, social media posting and copywriting.
  • Conduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomes. Prepare and reconcile budgets.
  • Research market, identify event opportunities and generate interest.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and travel to event/meeting locations.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 3+ years proven experience as an event organizer with an impressive portfolio of previously managed complex events (meetings, parties, corporate events).
  • Excellent time management and communication skills which demonstrate the ability to draft clear, concise specifications, documentation and reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of an organization, both internally and externally, and ability to build productive business relationships.
  • Effective negotiating and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • MS Office proficiency, WordPress, social media, and web-based registration systems.
  • BS in Event Management or related field.
  • Subject matter expert as evidenced by professional certification.
