NextFlex Briefs Attendees of the 2022 CubeSat Developers Workshop

As part of the recent 2022 CubeSat Developers Workshop at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, CA, I – Ed Hendricks, Director of Business Development at NextFlex – briefed attendees at the California Advanced Defense Ecosystems & National Consortia Effort (CADENCE) workshop on activities of the Defense Manufacturing Communities Support Program (DMCSP). I introduced NextFlex and Success Stories about two sub-recipients: Space Foundry and TagNTrac.

Space Foundry is NASA spin-off and a member of NextFlex that is engaged in developing a plasma jet printing platform. Through the CADENCE program, Space Foundry is developing a vertical market for plasma jet technology. Through NextFlex’s support, Space Foundry demonstrated the operation of their printer in low gravity. TagNTrac, a startup OEM with flexible hybrid electronics-enabled asset tracking solutions. Their solutions include ultra-low profile trackable labels utilizing Bluetooth or 5G networks, energy efficient “smart labels” with extended lifespans and secure connectivity. NextFlex demonstrated the application of FHE manufacturing processes for one of their products, including the viability of label-integrated 5G tracking devices.

About Me

I have over 20 years of experience in Business Development and managing P&L’s in emerging and diverse markets and technologies for the EMS market. I served in a variety of business management positions at Jabil, supporting diverse markets such as distributed energy, solar, water treatment, networking-telecom, data storage, medical electronics, and emerging technologies in advanced interconnect and aerospace. Prior to Jabil, I served 10 years in the United States Army in various leadership positions in Military Intelligence, specializing in Counter-Espionage. I earned a Bachelors of Science in Human Factors Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
